SEOUL, 11 July 2017 ? The Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) Korea, launched this year's lecture series on Philippine language and culture for Korean children last 8 July 2017 at the PDOT showroom in downtown Seoul.

Korean children participants of this year's lecture series on PH language and culture enjoy the different activities, which included a lesson on Filipino traditions and language as well as fun activities such as playing traditional Filipino games and mais con yelo making.
The lecture series, which first started in 2014, is a yearly program designed to develop ties between Korean citizens, including tourists, and the Philippines by providing them an opportunity to appreciate the country's history as well as experience its culture, tradition, and food.

Moreover, to highlight that the Philippines is a popular destination of choice for English studies for Koreans, the program also allows the young participants to learn basic Filipino words as well as English phrases.

The lecture series, which is free of charge, will run for 8 Saturdays, with two sessions per day. At least 240 Korean children signed up for the program.
