Philippines-Korea Friendship Day Celebrated with Korea-Philippines Friendship Association and Call Hero Foundation

The program featured a special performance by the KBS Arts Group and a gathering of representatives of institutions and foundations which have been doing civic, business, education, sports, and charitable work in the Philippines through the years. These include Deajin University, Korea Senior Citizen's Association, World Mixed Martial Arts Federation, Korean Artisan Art Association, Onsesang Church, and other businesses and media outfits.

Ambassador Dizon-De Vega expressed appreciation for the continued support, assistance, and friendship extended by the Korea-Philippines Friendship Association and the Call Hero Foundation to the Philippines and the Filipino people. She likewise shared that "this program is even more significant as we commemorate 75 years of deep and abiding friendship between our countries and our shared sacrifices during the Korean War."

For his part, Call Hero Foundation President Hwang Hak-su said that the "Korean people will never forget the assistance provided by the Philippines during the war and we will always be ready to help the Philippines."

Pastor Heejun Lee of the Onsesang Church in his opening prayer asked all the participants to aspire for peace and for long-lasting relations between the Philippines and Korea. END
