KOREAN IMPORTERS THANKED FOR BUYING FILIPINO

SEOUL, 23 September 2014 – Mr. Taeyong Shinn, Chairman and CEO of the powerful Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) and concurrent Chairman and CEO of Hanshinn International Corporation, called on the Philippine Ambassador to Korea Raul S. Hernandez on 22 September 2014 at the Philippine Embassy in Seoul.

Ambassador Hernandez expressed appreciation to KOIMA for its continuing support and patronage of Philippine exports and invited KOIMA to consider expanding its importation of products from the Philippines.

Chairman Shinn cited the close cooperation between the Philippines and KOIMA and conveyed the keen interest of many Korean importers to engage in business with the Philippines.

Chairman Shinn also invited Ambassador Hernandez to the CEO Academy Event to be hosted by KOIMA in the latter part of this year.

Since its establishment in 1970, KOIMA has played a pivotal role in Korea’s economic development by sourcing raw materials from abroad to fuel Korea’s exports. KOIMA currently has 8,500 member companies with distinct specializations.

KOIMA’s activities include facilitating the entry of imports into Korea, matching Korean importers with overseas qualified suppliers, arranging business matchmaking meetings, dispatching purchasing missions abroad and hosting the annual Import Goods Fair.
