PHL EMBASSY PARTICIPATES IN EMBASSIES' DAY IN SEOUL 2015

The opening ceremony held on 19 June drew the Korean public as well as members and families of the diplomatic community, the Korean National Assembly, and event sponsors. Korean tenor Jang Eun-hoon led the cultural program, which also featured a traditional Korean tea ceremony and a fashion showcase of hanbok, Korea's traditional costume.

Thirty-six Seoul-based embassies set up booths to promote their culture. The Philippine Embassy, led by its cultural section and the Department of Tourism office in Seoul, distributed tourism literature and showcased various Philippine dishes: tapa (marinated beef), tocino (sweetened cured pork), longanisa (native Filipino sausage), and pancit (vermicelli noodles).

At closing ceremonies held on the 21st of June, the spouses of foreign ambassadors, including Mme Hernandez, were presented with plaques of appreciation signed by Chairman Kim Min-chan for their respective embassies' participation at this year's event as well as for lending support to the World Masters' Committee's activities and programs.

An awarding ceremony was also held to honor people in the Korean media, entertainment, and movies for their contribution in the promotion of Korean culture around the world. Popular girl group A-Pink, which was awarded for its efforts, led K-pop artists in drawing hundreds young people to the awarding ceremony.

The World Masters' Committee, an international NGO, was established by Mr. Kim Min-chan 11 years ago with a vision of 밅reating One World through Art and Culture.
