CONSULAR MISSION FROM SEOUL TEAMS W/ HON. CONGEN IN BUSAN

BUSAN, 27 February 2016 ? The Philippine Embassy in South Korea conducted a two-day consular outreach mission starting on 26 February 2016 in the city of Busan, the second largest city in South Korea after Seoul.

The eight-member consular team of the Philippine Embassy led by Third Secretary and Consul Ella Karina R. Mitra and Honorary Consul General Dr. An Sang-wook (4th and 3rd from left, respectively) pose at the Philippine Consulate General building.
The consular mission to Busan, the Embassy's first for the year, was undertaken in coordination with the newly established Philippine Consulate General in Busan. The consular team was led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ella Karina R. Mitra and was assisted by the newly-inducted Philippine Honorary Consul General in Busan, Dr. An Sang Wook.

The eight-member team tallied 268 cases of passport applications, civil registration, notarials, travel documents, NBI clearances, and certification in two eight-hour sessions. The Embassy's Social and Welfare Attache Ms. Lucita J. Villanueva also joined the consular outreach to render counselling services to Filipino marriage migrants in Busan and nearby cities.

Busan, which is 325 kilometers south of Seoul, is home to 2,124 Filipinos.
