ADVISORY ON 2023 VOLUNTARY DEPARTURE PROGRAM FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS IN THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA


The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea (MOJ) has issued an announcement on the new special voluntary departure program for foreign nationals who no longer have any legal status to remain in Korea.

According to the MOJ, beginning 11 September 2023, foreign nationals illegally staying in South Korea who will voluntarily depart on or before 31 December 2023 will be granted a fine exemption and suspension of re-entry restrictions.

Applicants may also contact the Immigration Contact Center at 1345 with Filipino among the foreign languages available or visit the HiKorea (http://www.hikorea.go.kr) and Korea Immigration Service (http://www.immigration.go.kr) websites.
