EMERGENCY DISASTER RELIEF FUNDS FOR FOREIGN RESIDENTS IN SEOUL


The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to inform the Filipino community in Seoul that the Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has decided to include foreign residents in its emergency cash assistance payout scheme to help them cope with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to SMG, foreign residents who meet the following requirements are eligible for the support:



1. If the head of the household is a holder of one of the following visas: D-1, D-3, D-5- D-10, E-1, E-10, F-2, F-4, F-5, G-1 (excluding G1-10), H-1, H-2

2. If the head of the household has been registered as living in Seoul for over 90 days since reporting their Alien Registration Card (as of 27 August), and has reported their residence (starting on or before 28 May).

3. If the total income of the household is less than the median income.

For the complete list of requirements and other pertinent information about the program, please refer to the attached flyer from SMG.

Online applications can be made from 31 August to 25 September 2020 through http://fds.seoul.go.kr, or through 40 designated sites, including the Seoul Global Center and the Seoul Counseling Center for Migrant Women. On-site applications will proceed from 14-25 September at Gu offices throughout Seoul. END

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
