First Filipino radio broadcast airs in South Korea


The Philippine Embassy invites all Filipinos in South Korea to tune in to the first multicultural radio broadcast beginning 15 August 2008 at the following media outlets:

1. audio channel No. 855 of Skylife;
2. channel No. 811 of cable TV operator C&M; and
3. internet websites of Woongjin Foundation (www.wjfoundation.or.kr) and Digital Radio KISS (www.radiokiss.co.kr) respectively.

Aside from Pilipino, the multicultural radio program will be provided in the languages of three other countries, namely, China, Vietnam and Thailand.

Ms. Maria Regina Arquiza, a Philippine scholar at Ehwa Woman’s University, will host the Philippine segment of the multicultural radio program everyday for 1 hour and 30 minutes at the following time slots: 3:00-3:30 a.m., 9:00-9:30 a.m., 3:00-3:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. She will play traditional and modern Filipino music, and present educational and cultural programs, such as medical information, legal counseling, job information, and an introduction to Korea culture, language and customs.
