INVITATION FOR THE VIRTUAL FORUM ON LABOR MOBILITY AND THE GLOBAL COMPACT FOR SAFE, ORDERLY AND REGULAR MIGRATION


The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to invite the Filipino community in South Korea to attend the online forum/webinar entitled "Labor Mobility and Human Rights: Examining Migrant Labor Governance in the Middle East in the Context of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration" on 20 April 2021, Tuesday, 5 pm Korea time.

The webinar seeks to discuss the Global Compact of Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) - a primary United Nations process to protect all Filipino migrant workers against all forms of exploitation and abuse, and guarantee decent work for them - in relation to the positive developments in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar, respectively, which address the negative effects of the Kafala system. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro L. Locsin are expected to deliver their messages in the virtual forum.

The virtual forum is organized by the Office of the Undersecretary of Migrant Worker Affairs (OUMWA) and Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Human resources and Social Development in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the University of the Philippines - CIFAL (Centre Internationale de Formation des Autorites et Leaders).
Interested attendees may wish to register via https://bit.ly/virtualforumlabormobility or email oumwa@dfa.gov.ph with their respective names and email addresses to receive the Zoom Webinar link on a first-come first-served basis. For attendees unable to register, the Department shall likewise simultaneously telecast the virtual forum via the OFW Help Facebook page.

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
