NOMINATION FOR THE GAWAD GENY LOPEZ JR. BAYANING PILIPINO AWARDS


SEOUL, 12 February 2017 - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to inform all Filipinos in Korea that the nomination process for the Gawad Geny Lopez Jr., Bayaning Pilipino Awards is still open until 15 February 2017. The Gawad Geny Lopez Jr., Bayaning Pilipino Awards aim to recognize individuals who in their simple ways exemplify Filipino values:

 *Promote Filipino culture and heritage through a showcase of the Philippines' best and a moving forward through education;
 *Encourage positivism and participation in the community;
 *Focus their efforts to serve others, at times breaking norms or innovating; and
 *Transcend social barriers

Nominees should be in active community service, have successfully mounted and fulfilled a project, and have made an impact in a community may it be in the Philippines or in the country they are currently in.

Regional winners will be awarded in their respective areas, while country winners will be flown to the Philippines to attend the awarding ceremony on 28 June 2017, Independence Day.

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
