P5,000 Cash Relief Assistance to Active OWWA Members from badly-hit areas in Bohol


The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is giving Cash Relief Assistance in the amount of Php5,000.00 to every OFW-Family in Bohol affected by the October 15, 2013 Earthquake.

The cash relief assistance shall be granted to families of active OWWA members residing in badly hit areas in Bohol, as declared by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) of Region VII, by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake, subject to submission of the required documents.

The claimant can either be the OFW or his/her immediate family member, to wit:
a. For married OFW - the spouse or child of legal age
b. For single OFW - the parent or single sibling of legal age

Qualified beneficiaries shall be granted a cash relief assistance in the amount of Five Thousand Pesos only (Php 5,000.00) per OFW family. In the event that there is more than one OFW in a family (e.g. both husband and wife), only one OFW in a family shall be entitled, provided that an OFW with more than one legitimate family who were likewise affected by the earthquake shall be entitled to claim only once.

The qualified beneficiaries shall be identified through the OWWA database on the status of OWWA membership.

The following documentary requirements shall be submitted by the claimant:

a. Duly accomplished Claim Form

b. Certification from a competent government authority that the claimant is a resident of the barangay and was affected by the 15 October 2013 earthquake

c. Identification Card (ID) or any document that will establish the identity of the claimant

d. Proof of relationship of the claimant to the OFW, if claimant is the family member:
• For married OFW - Marriage Certificate, if claimant is the spouse; or Birth Certificate, if claimant is the child
• For single OFW - Birth Certificate, if claimant is the parent; or Birth Certificates of both OFW and the sibling, if claimant is the brother/sister.

As part of the activities for Philippine Independence Month, the Philippine Embassy in Seoul in cooperation with the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) invites interested individuals to a Special Vocal Workshop to be conducted by the renowned performing duo “The Nightingales” from the Philippines. The Nightingales are composed of Ms. Bernadette Mamauag and Ms. Katrina Marie Saga, who are members of the Philippine Madrigal Singers Company of Artists. The Nightingales have performed extensively in the Philippines and many other parts of the world with a varied repertoire ranging from classical, sacred, Filipino, contemporary and pop, and world music. The duo will be sharing vocal and performance techniques at this activity, further expanding the mission of the Philippine Madrigal Singers of a "Singing Philippines". See you there!
