PRELIMINARY DECLARATION OF VOLUNTARY DEPARTURE


All Filipinos are informed that the Korea Immigration Service (KIS) of the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has announced that starting 21 October 2019, a new scheme - "preliminary Declaration of Voluntary Departure" - has been implemented.

Irregular immigrants with an intention to voluntarily leave Korea are now required to visit the immigration office that covers their area of residence and declare their voluntary departure as early as fifteen (15) calendar days or up to three (3) business days prior their departure date.



Those who wish to leave Korea under the scheme need to present the following documents:

a.) Passport;

b.) A boarding pass bearing departure date that corresponds to the period opened for declaration; and

c.) A completed Statement of Voluntary Departure of Irregular Immigrants
***The form can be downloaded at Korea Immigration Service website
(www.immigration.go.kr) or Hi Korea website (www.hikorea.go.kr)

Individuals who already received a removal order, including detainees who are at large during temporary release of detention, cannot enjoy the new scheme;

Further, qualified applicants who want to take advantage of the scheme must take note that personal appearance is required and visit reservations cannot be made via Hi Korea website.

Immigration offices are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
