The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to share with the Filipino community the following updates from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea on the Korean Government셲 Re-entry Permit System:

- Korea has suspended its Re-entry Permit Exemption program to address the spread of COVID-19. The change was implemented on 01 June 2020;

- This measure affects all foreign residents re-entering Korea from overseas, except for Diplomat (A-1), Government Official (A-2), International Agreement (A-3), and Overseas Korean (F-4) visa holders;

- All registered foreign residents who will travel overseas are required to obtain a Re-entry Permit prior to their departure so that they can reenter Korea under their current status of stay. Applicants should visit the HiKorea website (www.hikorea.go.kr) at least 4 days prior to their departure from Korea; and

- Please note that foreign residents who will leave the country to travel overseas without receiving a Re-entry Permit before their departure will have his/her Foreign Resident (Alien) Registration cancelled and are thus obliged to obtain a new visa to re-enter Korea.

The Philippine Embassy encourages the Filipino community to be aware of these recent guidelines and cooperate with the authorities to prevent inconveniences. END
