Feast of Sto. Niño Celebrated in Bucheon City

The Bucheon Filipino Migrants Community celebrated the feast of Sto. Niño in a grand Sinulog Festival held on 29 January 2012, in Bucheon City.

The event started with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist, followed by the traditional Sinulog street dancing festival. Members of the Filipino community in Bucheon performed a Sinulog Festival dance routine to the delight of the Filipinos, as well as Koreans and other foreign guests attending the fiesta. Various Filipino dishes were served at lunch reminiscent of a traditional fiesta in the Philippines. To complete the fiesta atmosphere, a singing contest was conducted, gathering 12 talented Filipino singers coming from various Filipino communities in Korea. The event was also attended by Ambassador Luis T. Cruz, Consul-General Sylvia Marasigan, and Cultural Officer Mylo Fausto, who served as one of the judges of the singing contest.
