8 January 2026, Seoul – Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea H.E. Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez met with National Assembly Member Representative Kim Sung-won, Chair of the Republic of Korea–Philippines Parliamentary Friendship Group, at the National Assembly on 8 January 2026 to discuss strengthening parliamentary exchanges and bilateral cooperation between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea. Chairman Kim reaffirmed his strong support for deepening the Philippines–ROK strategic partnership and outlined prospective engagements with Philippine legislative leaders and business stakeholders. Both sides exchanged views on enhancing economic cooperation, and sustaining people-to-people ties.

Ambassador Fernandez welcomed Chairman Kim’s continued commitment and emphasized the importance of close parliamentary cooperation in advancing the growing strategic partnership between the two countries. Both sides expressed confidence that sustained dialogue and collaboration would further support the steady and mutually beneficial development of Philippines–ROK relations. END
