PH EMBASSY DELIVERS LECTURE ON THE PHILIPPINES TO SECOND YEAR STUDENTS AT SANGGAL MIDDLE SCHOOL, YONGIN, GYEONGGI-DO

Yongin, 20 July 2026 - The Philippine Embassy, represented by Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Mr. Edwin Gil Mendoza delivered a lecture to second year students at Sanggal Middle School in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do. The lecture was attended by approximately 100 middle school students, faculty members and representatives from the Yongin Office of Education, Yongin Youth Future Education and HelloWorldKorea. 

The special lecture was conducted as part of the 2026 Yongin International Manners Camp – Global Citizenship Education Program which aims to foster a deeper understanding of global citizenship among young learners through educational and cultural exchanges. 

The lecture focused on the Philippines’ geography, culture and tourism, while underscoring its vibrant, long-standing bilateral ties with the Republic of Korea.  Cassandra Dela Cruz, a Filipino graduate student in Seoul, ably translated the lecture for the Korean students. 

To encourage active participation, Deputy Head of Mission Mendoza concluded the lecture with a Q-and-A session, during which, students who answered correctly received Philippine Embassy souvenir bags. Following the lecture, Chief Executive Officer Kim Yeong Woo and Educational Supervisor Maeng Jeong Gi expressed hope for continued cooperation and future collaboration with the Philippine Embassy. 

The Philippine Embassy remains committed to promoting greater awareness and appreciation of the Philippines while encouraging young learners to engage and assume active roles in bringing positive change in the global community. END

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY WELCOMES LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO SEOUL

Seoul, 16 July 2026. The Philippine Embassy in Seoul led by Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez received the courtesy visit of a 60-member delegation composed of LGU officials including chief executives, local legislators and department heads from Quezon City, Legazpi City, Masbate, Occidental Mindoro, Siquijor, Tarlac, Surigao Del Norte and Zamboanga Del Norte at the Sentro Rizal Hall of the Philippine Embassy.
