SEPTEMBER IS MARITIME AND ARCHIPELAGIC NATION AWARENESS MONTH (MANAMo)

The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Seoul joins the Filipino nation in celebrating Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo) 2025, with the theme “Nagkakaisang Kapuluan, Panatag Na Karagatan.”

This year’s theme highlights the importance of strengthening national awareness and appreciation of the Philippines’ maritime and archipelagic character. It encourages unity among Filipinos in safeguarding the Philippines' maritime heritage and calls for collective efforts toward achieving a sustainable and secure ocean-based economy.

As part of the Embassy’s observance of MANAMo, the message of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs encouraging all foreign service personnel to help preserve and safeguard our maritime heritage was played during the 1 September 2025 flag raising ceremony.

By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 316, series of 2017, the month of September is designated as Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month. The observance aims to deepen the public's understanding of the Philippines’ unique geography and its vital role in regional and global maritime affairs.
