23 April 2026, Seoul - The 60th Meeting of the ASEAN-Korea Centre Executive Board (AKC EB) was held at the Press Center Building in Jung-gu, Seoul on 23 April 2026.  Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Edwin Gil Mendoza chaired the meeting, which was participated in by officials from the 10 ASEAN Member States and the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  The programs and activities of the Trade and Investment Unit were presented by its new Head from the Philippines, Ofelia R. Usigan.  An official from the Timor Leste Embassy was also present as an observer, following Timor Leste’s accession as the 11th Member State of ASEAN in 2025.

The Meeting discussed the AKC’s FY2026 schedule of programs, including trade and investments, culture and tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, that would further enhance relations between ASEAN and the ROK.  The Secretariat provided details of each program and discussed the various modes of participation from each member country. -END
