9 March 2026, Seoul - The Philippine Embassy had the pleasure of welcoming a class of Year 4 students and teachers from Dulwich College Seoul, a British international school with approximately 747 students representing around 45 nationalities. The visit formed part of the school’s learning program aimed at helping young students better understand global cultures, governance, and international relations. The visiting group consisted of 23 students aged eight years old and three teachers. The students are currently studying governance, guided by the central inquiry question: “Who has the power to change the world?” The embassy visit provided them with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about diplomacy and the role of international cooperation in shaping global affairs.
During the visit, embassy officials delivered an engaging and age-appropriate presentation introducing the Philippines. The session provided a visual overview of the country’s rich history, geography, culture, and key national characteristics. Through images, maps, and interactive elements, the students learned about the Philippines as a vibrant and diverse nation in Southeast Asia. The program also highlighted the longstanding diplomatic relationship between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea.
Students were also introduced to members of the Embassy team, including Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez, Defense Attaché Colonel Don Templonuevo, Labor Attaché Atty. Rosemarie Duquez, who briefly explained their roles and responsibilities. These introductions helped students understand how diplomats work to represent their country, strengthen international partnerships, and support citizens abroad.
Following the presentation, the students were given a short tour of the Embassy and the Sentro Rizal Hall, Conference Room and Library to see how a diplomatic and consular mission operates. The visit concluded with light refreshments and an opportunity for informal interaction between the students and embassy staff.
The Philippine Embassy values opportunities to engage with young learners and international communities and was delighted to host the students of Dulwich College Seoul. The visit helped foster greater understanding of the Philippines while encouraging students to reflect on how individuals and institutions can contribute to positive change in the world. END
