PHILIPPINE EMBASSY ADMINISTERS OATH TO OFFICERS OF FILIPINO PHOTOGRAPHERS IN SOUTH KOREA AND FILIPINO UNITEAM SOUTH KOREA

05 March 2023, Seoul. Ambassador Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega administered the oath-taking of the officers of two Filipino community organizations, the Filipino Photographers in South Korea (FILIPOS) and Filipino Uniteam South Korea (FUSK).

Organized in 2010, FILIPOS aims to "educate, encourage, and expand the photography knowledge and capabilities of its members, in an atmosphere of camaraderie and fun with Filipino communities in South Korea." Led by its incoming President Warlito Ildefonso, Jr., FILIPOS also renewed their Certificate of Recognition and expressed their commitment to support Embassy activities geared towards the uplifting of the general welfare and profile of the Filipino community.

Also on the same date, the Ambassador presented the Filipino Uniteam South Korea with their Certificate of Registration as a new Filipino community organization. FUSK aims to, among others, assist multicultural families and Filipino marriage migrants become "productive and active members of Korean society." The organization, led by its first President, Ms. April Valle, has engaged in humanitarian activities for the benefit of needy families in the Philippines and, most recently, earthquake victims in Turkey.

Witnessing the recognition and oath-taking were Consul General Romulo Victor "Jun" Israel, Jr., Vice Consul Jill De Dumo-Cornista, Labor Attache Maya Valderrama, Welfare Officer Pops Deuna, Cultural Officer Anthony Cornista, and Migrant Workers Officer Manny Barotilla.

PHILKOREC EXECUTIVE BOARD CALLS ON PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR

01 April 2026, Seoul - Philippine-Korea Economic Council Executive Board ((PHILKOREC EB) officials, led by its Chair, Atty. Fabian Delos Santos, called on Ambassador Bernadette Therese Fernandez at the Sentro Rizal Conference Hall of the Philippine Embassy.  The PHILKOREC EB, along with other executives and key officers from various Philippine business sectors, including services, hospitality and tourism, construction, hotels and resorts, consulting, manpower, airlines, and healthcare and wellness, were in the ROK from 30 March to 03 April to participate in the 2026 Korea Business Expo Gangseo.  The Expo is a strategic platform organized by the World Federation of Overseas Korean Economic and Traders Associations (World-OKTA), which coincidentally celebrated its 45th Anniversary this year.  The business expo provided international businessmen with the opportunity to engage leading Korean enterprises, exchange market insights and explore partnerships.

PH EMBASSY HIGHLIGHTS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP, VALUE OF DIPLOMACY AT KNDA ANNUAL PANEL

25 March 2026, Seoul - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul participated in the Annual Diplomatic Panel of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) on 25 March 2026 at the DiploTown Building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.  The program gathered forty (40) diplomatic candidates of the KNDA and five (5) working-level diplomats from the Embassies of the Philippines, Guatemala, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, and Brazil.  The KNDA panel convenes representatives of diplomatic missions in Seoul for an exchange on the practice of diplomacy and present the significance of their respective countries’ relations with the Republic of Korea to the newest cohort of Korean diplomats.
