SEOUL, 7 July 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez met Mr. Jin Roy Ryu, Chairman and CEO of the Poongsan Group, one of the largest manufacturers of metal products and munitions in the world, at the Poongsan headquarters in Seoul on 7 July 2014.

Mr. Nicanor Bautista, Special Trade Representative and Commercial Counselor of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Seoul, joined Ambassador Hernandez in the meeting. Citing Chairman Ryu’s visit to the Philippines from 20 to 23 January 2014, Ambassador Hernandez welcomed the “Poongsan Group’s interest in exploring business opportunities in the Philippines”. Chairman Ryu confirmed the Poongsan Group’s interest to participate in the Asia Defense and Security Show to be held from 16 to 18 July 2014 at the World Trade Center in Manila. The Poongsan Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of copper and copper alloys that are used extensively in the electronics, semi-conductors, shipping, and construction and defense sectors.

8 January 2026, Seoul – Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea H.E. Bernadette Therese C. PH, ROK REAFFIRM COMMITMENT TO CONSULAR COOPERATION AND PROTECTION OF NATIONALS

9 January 2026, Seoul. Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez, met with Director General for Consular Affairs Yoon Chuseok of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea to reaffirm the shared commitment of the Philippines and the ROK to the safety and welfare of their nationals.
