(PVAI) Major Maximo P. Young (Ret) through a solemn celebration of his life at the Sentro Rizal Hall of the Embassy. Major Young passed away on 29 January 2022 at age ninety-nine (99) years old.

SEOUL, 19 January 2022 - Ambassador Theresa Dizon-De Vega met with Ambassador Woo Kyoung-ha, Secretary General of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities (TPO), to discuss strengthened tourism engagement between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea through the TPO Secretariat. In his capacity as the new Secretary General of the TPO, Ambassador Woo is currently undertaking initiatives to promote the organization and to reach out to its members. He said that the Philippines is very important because the City of Manila is one of its founding members and has a seat in the executive board composed of fourteen (14) members.

SEOUL, 4 February 2022 - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul hosted the first of its Know Your Rights and Responsibilities (KYRR) Seminar Series on 30 January 2022. A recurring project in 2022, the KYYR Series is being launched this year as a platform for overseas Filipinos in Korea to learn more about their rights and responsibilities under both Philippine and Korean laws and regulations. Future sessions will cover other topics such as property matters in the Philippines, land titling, relevant Korean laws, and important procedures and processes for Filipinos currently living in Korea.

Philippine Ambassador witness signing ceremony of ASEAN-ROK Joint Research and Development MOUs
SEOUL, 27 January 2022 - Philippine Ambassador to Korea Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega witnessed the signing ceremony for six (6) new MOUs under ASEAN-Korea Joint Research and Development (R&D) on 26 January 2022. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE) and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT). Companies based in the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia signed their respective MOUs with Korean companies virtually while the heads of Diplomatic Missions in Korea joined the ceremony in person.

KATATAGAN BOOK LAUNCHED IN SOUTH KOREA

"Isa po itong regalong hindi mapapantayan ng pera", Teresita Recinto expressed with tears of joy as she received this month her personal copy of the book Katatagan: Tales of Faith, Strength and Resilience of Filipinos in South Korea where her essay, Alarm Clock, is one of the featured pieces. Ms. Recinto, an OFW, a cancer survivor, and a member and volunteer in the Seoul Filipino Catholic Community (SFCC), said that she wrote the essay to share her reflections on the pandemic, writing paragraphs in instalments every night after working "arubeit" or sideline ? something that she had to do to augment her income.
