ULSAN, 18 JUNE 2024. Philippine Secretary of National Defense (SND) Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. attended the launching ceremony of BRP Miguel Malvar at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard (HHI) in Ulsan, South Korea on 18 June 2024. Special Envoy for UNICEF Monica Prieto-Teodoro served as the ship's godmother. BRP Miguel Malvar is Hyundai Heavy Industries' first corvette for the Philippine Navy and a symbol of increasing PH-ROK cooperation in defense modernization.

PISTANG PINOY SA KOREA 2024 HELD IN BUSAN

13 June 2024, Busan, South Korea. Pistang Pinoy sa Korea 2024 was successfully held at the Eurasia Platform in Busan on 09 June 2024, marking a significant celebration of the 126th Philippine Independence Day, the 29th Migrant Workers Day, and the 75th anniversary of Philippines-Korea diplomatic relations. The event, organized by the Philippine Embassy in Seoul, Migrant Workers Office-Seoul, and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Seoul, with the support of the vibrant Overseas Filipino community in South Korea and WISH 107.5, brought together nearly 3,000 participants - the largest gathering for Independence Day celebrations in South Korea thus far. Many more viewed the event live-streamed through the Wish 107.5 platforms.

Philippine Agricultural Cooperatives Undertake Mission to Korea

19 May 2024, Seoul. Heads and representatives of 13 agricultural cooperatives from the Philippines took part in a learning mission to Korea for meetings with Korea's National Agricultural Cooperative Foundation (NACF), NH Bank, CJ Feeds, and other institutions involved in the development of the agricultural cooperative system of Korea. FORMER FOREIGN AFFAIRS SECRETARY DELIA DOMINGO-ALBERT DELIVERS TALK AT EWHA WOMAN'S UNIVERSITY DISTINGUISHED GLOBAL LECTURE SERIES

22 May 2024, Seoul. Former Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Delia Domingo Albert was a guest speaker at Ewha Woman's University Distinguished Global Lecture Series on 19 April 2024. Focusing on the theme "Building Global Networks in Diplomacy and International Relations", Ambassador Albert shared highlights of her professional journey first as an education then as a diplomat and advocate within the context of regional and international developments such as the establishment of ASEAN and its subsequent membership expansion; the crafting of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW); the various historic women-focused international conferences; the evolution of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC); the Global Summit of Women; and the opportunities and challenges for women in the diplomatic and international relations sphere. The audience of 70 students and faculty of Ewha University's Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) likewise posed questions to Ambassador Albert and appreciated the inspiration and motivation she provided to the students.
