ADVISORY ON PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION NO. 297 LIFTING OF THE STATE OF PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY THROUGHOUT THE PHILIPPINES DUE TO COVID-19

By: Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines, SEOUL

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public that on 21 July 2023, the Office of the President issued Proclamation No. 297 on the lifting of the State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines due to COVID-19.

Under said Proclamation, "All prior Orders, Memoranda, and issuances that are effective only during the State of Public Health Emergency shall be deemed withdrawn, revoked or canceled and shall no longer be in effect." But all the Emergency Use Authorization or EUA issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pursuant to Executive Order No. 121 (s. 2020) shall remain valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of lifting of the State of Public Health Emergency for the sole purpose of exhausting the remaining vaccines.

In view of this, the public is further informed that starting 22 July 2023, the Philippines will no longer require travelers to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a COVID-19 negative test result when entering the Philippines. This update has likewise been reflected in the Philippine government's e-travel portal (https://etravel.gov.ph/).

Thank you.
