Philippine Ambassador to Korea Raul S. Hernandez shows off both the English and Korean version of the well-loved Philippine folk tale “Bahay Kubo,” which is among the eight Philippine books displayed at the “Encounter the World through Children’s Books” Exhibition at the Korea Foundation Gallery during the opening ceremony on 26 April 2016.
Under the program “Book Reading for Children by Ambassador in Korea”, Mr. Roderico C. Atienza, Consul General and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines, will read one of the oldest and most popular Filipino children's stories ever told: “Ang Matsing at ang Pagong” (The Monkey and the Turtle). A short video about the Philippines and about the story will also be presented, to be followed by Philippine snacks.
The reading is part of the larger event organized by the Korea Foundation, called “Encounter the World through Children’s Books,” which is putting on display 400 books recommended or donated by foreign diplomats at the KF Gallery in Seoul until 8 June 2016.
The invitation is open to the first 20 children. For registration, please visit the following links:
