PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN SOUTH KOREA CONDUCTS FIRST CONSULAR OUTREACH MISSION OF THE YEAR IN GWANGJU

25 February 2019 - The Philippine Embassy in South Korea conducted its first Consular Outreach Mission of the year on the third week of February in Gwangju, South Korea's sixth largest city located in the country's South Jeolla Province.

The six-member consular team of the Philippine Embassy, led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Lyza Maria S. Viejo pose with Mr. Rolland Dela Cruz of POLO, Ms. Marivic Digma of OWWA, Gwangju Jeonnam Filipino Community (GJFC) President Ms. Sheryl Diaz, and officers and members of the GJFC after the 2-day Consular Outreach.
The outreach mission was organized in cooperation with the Gwangju Jeonnam Filipino Community (GJFC) led by its president, Ms. Sheryl Diaz. It was held on 22-23 February 2019 at the 5th Floor of the KEB Hana Building in central Gwangju.

Third Secretary and Vice Consul Lyza Maria S. Viejo led the six-member consular outreach team in bringing various services to the Filipino Community in Gwangju including passport application and renewal, civil registration, NBI clearance application, notarial services, and citizenship reacquisition, among others. Vice Consul Viejo also provided information on embassy services, as well as pertinent advice and assistance to Filipinos in Gwangju and surrounding cities. The consular team processed a total of 282 consular services during the two-day period, serving more than 250 Filipinos.

Mr. Rolland Dela Cruz from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and Ms. Marivic Digma from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) joined the Embassy team to assist Filipino workers on their OECs and other labor-related concerns. END
