SEOUL, 24 August 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to South Korea joined the organizers of the forthcoming 17th Asian Games and tourism promotion executives from various Asian countries at the opening of the three-day Incheon Tour & Leisure Sports Fair on 22 August 2014 at the Samsan World Gymnasium.

Philippine Ambassador to Korea Raul Hernandez joins other ambassadors, national tourism executives, and travel professionals at the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon to open the three-day Incheon Tour & Sports Fair on Friday, 22 August 2014 at the Samsan World Gymnasium.
Ambassador Hernandez, together with Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee President Kim Young Soo and Philippine Department of Tourism (PDoT)-Korea Director Maricon Basco-Ebron, joined the ribbon cutting ceremony and the luncheon hosted by fair organizer Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA) Co. The Fair is part of the events in the run-up to the opening of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, where the Philippines and 44 other countries will send athletes to compete at the Games from 19 September to 4 October 2014. The Philippines opened its participation at the fair with the festive performances of the percussion group DJ Leandro Zayco and the Patiqueros. Until it closed on 24 August 2014, the Fair attracted thousands of international and regional industry professionals, specialists of hospitality, buyers and travel consumers to showcase their unique sports leisure products and services. The Philippines highlighted in its booth tourism destinations popular to Koreans, including Cebu, Boracay, Bohol and Manila. Formed as a four-member drum-and-mix group in Bacolod in 2003, DJ Leandro Zayco and the Patiqueros has performed for audiences in Seoul and Busan, as well as Berlin, Germany, Moscow, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Sakhalin in the Russian Far East, Singapore, Shanghai and Suzhou in China, Mumbai and New Delhi in India. The Philippines' leading airline, Cebu Pacific Air, offered a round-trip ticket in a draw to Philippine booth visitors.
