JIL KOREA RECOGNIZED ON ITS 9TH ANNIVERSARY

���The Embassy recognizes that the JIL church along with other pastors and missionaries in South Korea, help valuable support systems and provide moral guidance to assist the OFWs face their daily problems,��� Ambassador Hernandez told 500 JIL Church South Korea Chapter members from throughout Korea at the Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel in Sindorim. ���I extend my deep appreciation for all that the JIL has done through all nine years since its founding in 2005���, Ambassador Hernandez said. ���I am looking forward to our continued collaboration as we strive to protect the interests of Filipinos in Korea and to uplift the image of the Philippines and Filipinos in this country���, he stressed before the packed hall as he awarded to Pastor Samuel de Vera, deputy area pastor the certificate of registration as a legitimate community organization. Singapore-based pastor, Rev. Romeo Dimarucut, who oversees JIL South Korea, commended Ambassador Hernandez and Labor Attache Atty. Felicitas Q. Bay who updated the JIL members of the Embassy���s programs and services, for their hard work and commitment to the Filipinos in Korea. Starting with 15 members in 1978, JIL grew to 6 million believers as of 2010. Its world headquarters is located in Bocaue, Bulacan. The JIL Church South Korea Chapter started its mission in 2005 at the Sindorim area in Seoul and has transformed to a church that is active in 12 key locations in South Korea and with approximately 600 members.
